We are currently looking for a Project Manager on a Permanent basis.
As a Project Manager you will be reporting to the Contract Manager. You will lead the on-site team to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with a strong focus on safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager to plan and execute the project effectively, ensuring it meets all requirements and safety standards.
- Establish emergency plans and site facilities for smooth operations.
- Manage storage for materials, plant, and tools, keeping stock in check.
- Plan materials ahead to get the best prices and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate labor schedules with subcontractors to stay on track.
- Ensure the site is safe for everyone, following safety guidelines and providing first aid facilities.
- Supervise site operatives, ensuring they work safely, maintain quality, and follow procedures.
- Check that all construction works meet required standards
- Manage deliveries and deployment of materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and the project team.
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and adhere to health and safety practices.
- Prepare reports for the Contract Manager and Contracts Director.
- Address unexpected challenges and report to the Contracts Manager and Contracts Director.
- Handle any other duties as required by management.
Education / Experience:
- Degree / HND in construction management or a relevant discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in similar site management roles on projects over £10M.
- Valid CSCS Card at management level.
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations.
- First aid qualification.
- Strong communication and planning skills.
- Analytical and decision-making skills.
- Commercially aware, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ability to drive projects forward and maintain high standards of work.
- Understanding of CDM regulations.
- IT literate with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD knowledge.
- Flexible for site locations within the UK
- Candidates must have the appropriate work permit or the right to work in the UK.
