We're thrilled to announce a temporary contract opportunity for a Project Manager to join our IT team until January 2025! This is an exciting chance to be part of our growth strategy here at cardfactory.
As a Project Manager, you'll play a crucial role in managing and delivering change and business-as-usual (BAU) IT projects. You'll collaborate with our Transformation Office to standardize and mature project delivery methods, while reporting directly to our IT Programme Manager. Success in this position looks like owning and delivering all change and BAU IT projects while effectively managing project teams.
Our position is based at Junction 41 in Wakefield, just off the M1, with free parking, and offers a flexible, hybrid way of working. However, all colleagues are required to work in the office for a minimum of 1 to 2 days per week, with the expectation of added attendance when needed.

Role Responsibility
As a Project Manager, your accountabilities will include the following:
- Owning and delivering all change and BAU IT projects, ensuring accountability for project delivery.
- Collaborating with the Transformation Office to standardize and mature project delivery methods.
- Managing projects using agile Scrum, Kanban, and waterfall methodologies.
- Providing leadership for project teams, motivating, coaching, and developing staff.
- Delivering projects of varying size and complexity across the full project lifecycle, including creating and operating governance with appropriate monitoring and controls.
- Owning IT resource demand, capacity, and utilization reporting, while supporting resource planning and allocation.
- Collaborates with matrixed project teams based on-shore and off-shore (business analysts, product owners, designers, developers, testers, infrastructure, and in-life operational teams).
The Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrable experience in Project/Programme related roles, focusing on IT Delivery, ideally in a Retail or Fintech organisation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of methodologies that will work effectively in a transformation and technology delivery program
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-driven, with a strong ownership mind-set
- Batchelor’s or Maters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field (preferred)
