PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Take ownership – accountable for the delivery of the project following briefing from the head of delivery or project sponsor,
Mobilisation – stands up the project team, mobilises resources and establishes the project governance (within the appropriate waterfall/ agile / DSDM / Scrum framework)
Plan – produces and maintains the project plan and milestone plan (detailing activities and critical path) to control and report progress, highlighting any deviances as appropriate (e.g. resource challenges)
Project Logs – maintains an effective Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies & Change logs. All risks and issues to be accurately reported and mitigating actions identified / proactively progressed. Scope changes to be formally assessed for impact
Benefits & Costs – responsible for the tracking of the defined project benefits (highlighting and managing any risks to the benefits case) and control of costs and resources within the agreed budget, working with the delivery team to ensure that an accurate resource forecast is complete and maintained, including working with third party resource and shared service suppliers to fulfil project needs
Communications – engages with key stakeholders and communication business partners to provide visibility and confidence that the project is being properly managed and responsible for the production of regular and accurate progress reports highlighting any breach of agreed tolerances
Requirements & Solution – owns the content and quality of the requirements & solution design outputs and ensures alignment with the stated project outcome;
Build & Test – supports the development and validation of the solution to ensure that the stated business needs are met
Business Readiness – establishes that the solution and the transition plan for the business are ready for go live and that any outstanding deliverables are understood, agreed and assigned / de-scoped as required, effectively transitioning the project into Service delivery and ensuring all remaining change and issues are closed down
Project Closure & Lessons Learned – achieves formal project close down and records all lessons learned to ensure that all key learnings are captured for future reference – recommending any immediate actions that may be appropriate

Ensure appropriate controls are in place for time, cost and quality
Ensure detailed base lined plans are produced; critical path is signed off and reported against
Monitor, track and report to key IT and business stakeholders
Ensure appropriate risk, issues, assumptions and dependency management is in place, liaise with business and IT stakeholder for identification, escalation and mitigation.
Ensure compliance to the governance structure as defined in the life cycle
Develop and maintain effective relationships with the product owner or project sponsor and business team
Engage and build relationships with the delivery team and stakeholders who will be required to support and deliver the project
Engage and build relationships with the various business stakeholders to ensure the appropriate input and support is in place for the project
Coordinate and liaise with 3rd parties where appropriate for the delivery and coordination of the IT technical tasks
Engage and build relationships within the IT team
Develop, co-ordinate and help establish business case for projects
Monitor budgets regularly to ensure budget remains within the agreed financial governance
Ensure appropriate gateway governance is adhered to
Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues to provide support and knowledge transfer
Conduct peer reviews of project documentation
Define and support improvements to the working practices within project portfolio, function and IT by contributing to improvement initiatives
Shaping, developing and establishing business case for projects
Support the mobilisation of projects, across the portfolio
Support the resolution of project issues, across the portfolio
Support project quality checks, and quality assurance activities across the portfolio
