Project Producer

Creative Crawley’s Project Producer will play a key role within the organisation ensuring that the September 2024 – August 2025 programme including Creative Playground and in particular The Creative Village is delivered to a high standard.

Fee:   £23,400 (£150 per day)

Contract:  Part time (3 days a week), fixed term freelance September 2024 – August 2025

About the role

The Project Producer is one of the faces of the company and will be directly in contact with existing and emerging creative professionals and residents to deliver the programme.

In collaboration with the Project Co-Directors, Head of Learning and Production and the Community Producer, the freelance Project Producer will support key aspects of the programme and deliver against the business plan’s Smart Targets,  working towards key milestones, targets and agreed project outcomes.

A: They might have been a freelance producer working directly with artists or venues. They might have been worked in a commercial or events setting but will definitely have worked with people aged 16 – 30 in a creative setting.

Person Specification

Essential

● A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.

● Proven experience of working with artists and projects that place participation and/or co-creation at the heart of their practice.

● Proven experience of working with 16 - 30 year olds as participants in arts programmes.

● The ability to communicate with participants who have limited experience of the arts.

● Experience of programming and funding models.

● Well developed creative skills, with the ability to think laterally and innovatively.

● Proven experience of developing and/or maintaining strategic partnerships at a range of levels within the arts, statutory and community and voluntary sectors.

● Experience of working with a range of organisations, groups and individuals and communicating effectively at all levels.

● Experience of the management and control of budgets.

● Excellent networking and advocacy skills.

● An awareness of equal opportunities policy and practice and a commitment to inclusion and access.

● Excellent ability to prioritise, working on own initiative and in a flexible and highly proactive manner.

● High level of presentation and communication skills in written and verbal forms including excellent IT literacy particularly using GDrive.

● Vision, ambition and enthusiasm for the long-term development of cultural infrastructure and high quality offer in Crawley.

● Willingness to undertake an enhanced criminal records disclosure.

● Clean driving licence and access to a car.

 

Desirable

● Knowledge of Crawley and the wider region’s creative ecology.

● Experience of monitoring, evaluation and report writing.

● Marketing and communications experience.
