About the roleThe London Fire Brigade is looking to appoint a Project Support Officer on a temporary basis, until the end of March 2024.The postholder will be responsible for being a key part of the team that will deliver this A1 corporate project to procure and rollout improved breathing apparatus and ancillary equipment for frontline staff. The postholder will provide administrative support to the project team and play a key part in documenting, scheduling and creating reports to ensure that the project delivers on time and to the agreed scope.Key responsibilities
- Provide direct administrative support to the project manager and project team, including diary maintenance, scheduling and meeting requests
- Continuously monitor progress to ensure the timely completion of work stream activities to agreed standards
- Service meetings, including obtaining the availability of attendees, the preparation of agendas and minutes, the receipt, collation and despatch of all documents and follow up actions, having due regard to deadlines
- Draft correspondence and briefing notes as required
Skills, knowledge, and experience
- Experience of using a range of Information Technology applications and packages together with good keyboard skills and an understanding of how of how IT systems can be utilised in relation to the duties of the post
- Experience of managing and coordinating work streams for projects together with experience of using project management applications
- Experience of creating, implementing and monitoring project plans to ensure the timely completion of project activities
- Experience of setting up and maintaining detailed administrative processes
Please note that this role is full time based in the office, and will require the successful candidate to work from both Croydon and Southwark sites.
