We are seeking a Project Support Officer to join our Public Health Directorate, Health Protection Service. The role is focused on supporting the delivery team in Health Protection prevention activities across our communities and settings. This is a pivotal role in our strong ambition for improving population health and health protection functions.
Day to Day of the role:
- Provide high-level administrative support: organising meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, updating contact and content management systems, monitoring implementation schedules, preparing progress reports, and liaising with key stakeholders.
- Engage in project planning and issue management: monitor progress against performance and plan targets, identify where corrective action needs to be taken, and escalate issues as required.
- Support stakeholder engagement, mapping, and preparation of internal and external communications.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring key staff members are engaged and able to support project delivery timescales.
- Assist with all reporting requirements and the collection of data and coordination of reports to internal and external groups.
- Liaise with relevant departments and finance leads to supply information required to ensure financial balance.
- Support the effective communication of health protection messages.
- Work with the wider public health team to support the health protection function of the directorate.
- Support the directorate response to managing outbreaks in complex settings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience of Project Support.
- Excellent keyboard skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to deal with queries in a professional, organised, and supportive manner, including those of a sensitive or contentious nature.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, multitask, and adjust plans accordingly.
- Ability to work in teams and interface with external teams.
- Computer literacy and advanced keyboard skills.
