Job description

Move to Improve and bring the company forward

An important part of the DOF culture is to learn from the experienced and skilled people we are so fortunate to recruit. If you feel that you can contribute and make us better, we promise you that we are always open to new ideas and innovation. After all, it is the culture of innovation that has made DOF one of the most exciting places to work. In DOF you can make a difference in an environment ready to solve problems and implement good ideas quickly. And who knows? Perhaps you will learn something from your new colleagues, as well. We offer an exciting opportunity in our Survey & Inspection Department in a fast changing, dynamic industry - and plenty of opportunity to grow, apply your knowledge, skills and experience in DOF’s core activities.

Join us as our new Project Surveyor

We are looking for more members to join our Survey & Inspection Department: a dynamic working environment consisting of highly educated, skilled, positive, innovative, and enthusiastic employees from many parts of the world and a myriad of backgrounds. Working closely with an assigned Project Manager, you will be a representative of the Survey & Inspection Department to ensure survey crewing levels, technical solutions, equipment choices and methodologies are current, efficient and executed to the highest professional standards. The Project Surveyor often "owns" the survey side of a larger project, be that in decommissioning, renewables or pure geophysical. That will start from tendering through mobilisation, offshore execution and final handover of the survey deliverable to the client. Work tasks will therefore be mixed and varied, and include development of procedures, schedule planning and organising of survey activities together with the department manager and other leading members of the team.

Requirements

  • Relevant university degree in hydrographic surveying, geoscience or similar (experience can compensate for lack of formal education), All applications will be judged on their own merit
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience from offshore survey operations
  • Mid-level project management experience would be desirable but is not essential
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, often high-tempo environment where we share our success
  • Digital competence and good experience in producing useful and clear content in various digital media and channels
  • Both written and oral communication skills in English
  • Highly developed communication, cooperation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and deliver within often tight deadlines
  • Ability to be proactive and independent with complex projects
  • Be highly motivated and determined to achieve your own goals

Who we are

At DOF what we do is as important as the way we do business – our operations are safe, legal and ethical, everywhere we do business. The DOF team treat each other and our surroundings with RESPECT, INTEGRITY and strive for EXCELLENCE in all we do. All our employees are expected to have a drive for results and solve problems, but not without showing integrity and focusing on communication along the way.

With a multi-national workforce of around 3,800 personnel, DOF is an international group of companies which owns and operates a fleet of modern offshore/subsea vessels, with an engineering, survey and ROV capacity to service both the offshore and subsea market. With more than 40 years in the offshore business, the DOF group has a strong position in terms of experience, innovation, product range, technology, and capacity.

DOFs core activities are vessel ownership, vessel management, project management, engineering, vessel operations, survey, remote intervention, and diving operations. DOF offers a full spectrum of top-quality offshore services to facilitate an ever-growing and demanding energy industry.

The company’s main operation centres and business units are located in Norway, UK, USA, Singapore, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Angola, and Australia.

Office location is Bergen, Norway or Aberdeen Scotland, with hybrid working options.

Is this the perfect role for you, but you don’t meet every single requirement? Our culture of innovation is built on valuing the right person for the role over a perfect alignment with a job description. Not least because research tell us women and minorities are unlikely to apply if they aren’t able to match all the role requirements listed. Building a diverse, inclusive, and positive workplace is important to DOF, so we say, apply for the role – it’s the best way to find the right person for this or other roles and that could be you.
