This is an exciting time to join Hiscox and the UK Retail Business, as we are expanding our in-house engineering and test teams. We are transforming our change capability into a scaled agile delivery model, but we also deliver significant change via a portfolio of projects.

About the Project Test Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is able to apply their extensive test management and software testing knowledge to help us shape the test delivery framework for our portfolio of projects.

• Own and maintain the test delivery framework by ensuring we have clearly defined documentation templates and guidelines.
• Work with the project management team to agree on test resourcing needs, identify and align the required test team to the various deliveries.
• Oversight of the test activities on all active project deliveries to ensure the teams are following the correct approach.
• Point of escalation for any Project Test delivery issues
• Manage the test delivery for projects or small change where appropriate.
• Work with project teams and squads to agree the model for transitioning projects into agile squads.
• Mentoring and development of permanent team members where required
• Contributes to wider test chapter meetings, knows the strategy and how their work contributes to its success, actively working on specific wider team initiatives.

About you

You will be using your extensive experience and knowledge of software testing methodologies to either own or support our deliveries, ensuring the most appropriate test approaches, tools and techniques are being implemented in line with the business process and technology in scope.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in various test methodologies - both agile and waterfall.
• Strong working knowledge of the software testing process - Planning, preparation, execution, defect management, evidence requirements, reporting
• Experience of using test management and project management tools (Jira Zephyr, ADO etc)
• Experience managing UAT with business users.
• Experience working with and managing third party suppliers.
• Release and environments management knowledge

Nice to haves (desirables):

• Insurance Business knowledge
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Platform
• ISTQB or other certification is a plus.
• Test automation knowledge
• Awareness of BDD, TDD, CI/CD environment
