Job description

Job Introduction You'll be based at our SE London (Southwark) based low support residential services for 14 men with a history of offending and complex presentation that may include dual diagnosis. As part of our social care team, you will work in partnership with clinicians employed by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, as well as with our partners within probation/police services.
Passionate about supporting people, this position will provide you with an opportunity to enhance your own life and career too, as you make this role your own as part of our friendly, multidisciplinary team.
Role Responsibility Join our team and you will be working within the context of a psychologically informed service, responsible for your own caseload, undertaking & formulating risk assessments, and putting effective personalised, recovery-based care and support plans in place. In a role where no two days are the same, you will engage with our residents through group work and activities that may involve therapeutic principles, and will be providing individual support to enable the residents to make informed choices about their future.
You will be required to work 37 hours per week, in a shift pattern which ensures the service is staffed 7 days a week.
The Ideal Candidate You'll need previous relevant experience of using a person centred approach in a mental health setting and a good understanding of the complex needs of individuals we support. You must be capable of prioritising your own workload and using your initiative.
Experience of working with individuals who have forensic histories would be an advantage. An effective team player, with a proven track record as a supervisor/line manager. You will possess excellent communication skills, a flexible recovery focused approach, a positive attitude and be able to adapt in a changeable environment.
About us As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer.
Across the varied regions, sectors and settings we operate within, our organisation is held together by a shared vision - and our people are connected by the same values. These include belief in potential, confidence in communication, embracing positive change and always treating each other as individuals.
We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.
Our people bring our vision to life. So, if you are enthusiastic, motivated and committed to support others to fulfilling their potential, here at Turning Point, we don't just offer you a job - we offer you a career.
