The role
As a Property Programme Manager, you’ll play a vital role in delivering capital construction projects to support the operational network and ensuring we have the right facilities for our people and to deliver for our customers. You will lead and drive the delivery of a range of construction projects from new builds, extensions, refurbishments, and asset repair/replacement.
Through the management of internal project managers and multi-disciplinary property professional teams you will be responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of large scale, complex property projects from design, property acquisition, construction through to the handover to live operations.
From managing surveys and building improvements in live operational sites, from unique and listed properties to modern industrial units and new net zero build and fitout projects you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of works of value, scale, type and geographic reach.
You will manage and direct the implementation of construction projects (capital and large maintenance opex programmes) being responsible for all aspects of development and delivery of the Property Programmes ensuring compliance with latest statutory, regulatory, and internal design standards.
You’ll be involved with complex, strategic decision making and work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including Property Strategy, Operations, Finance, Safety, and Procurement, to prioritise investment creating and maintaining an integrated construction and asset investment strategy within your area of responsibility.
About you
You need to demonstrate the following skills, experience on your CV:
- Delivery experience of property works (building fabric, M&E or estate change) and the management of a portfolio of projects in industrial, logistics and commercial properties.
- Knowledge of how strategic requirements can be translated into property solutions.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with experience negotiating.
- Strong safety and compliance knowledge in a construction/building context, with experience managing programmes safely.
- Planning and programme governance skills to assess, manage and deliver performance of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing and developing a team.
- Qualified project manager or chartered qualification in the Construction/Built Environment field (such as but not limited to MRICS, MCIBSE, APM, ICE, CIOB etc).
