We are looking for a Proposal Manager on behalf of our global client based in Wallingford. The Proposal Manager will primarily be responsible for writing tenders for Geophysical projects world-wide whilst maintaining excellent relationships with clients through responding to enquiries, active follow-ups and identifying opportunities for future business. You will be collaboratively working as part of the MSC geophysics team to develop client opportunities into contracted work, this role collaborates with all functions within the service line to ensure that proposed solutions are safe, profitable and risks are mitigated at proposal stage.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of developing proposals and responses to client requests at the country and/or service line level (or project complexity levels 2 to 3)
• Ensures the proposal is delivered on time and to a high standard of quality whilst maintaining a focus on providing a solution that meets our clients’ needs whilst adequately understanding HSSE, financial, contractual and technical risk
• Work in close collaboration with Sales/BD, technical and project management teams
• Manages the proposal development teams, as well as the proposal approval process (where applicable)
• May peer review proposals where requested at the local and/or Service line level
• Leads or participates in project lessons learned (internal and external) and facilitates execution of lessons learned for future proposals.
• Can act as Key Account Manager for local customers

Essential Skills and Competencies:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Geophysics or closely related subject.
• Previous proposal management experience of 2 years plus.
• Lower experience levels considered if directly applicable to the role in either a commercial or practical function.
• Business Acumen - Requires an understanding of business functions such as profit and loss, forecasting and cost analysis.
• Client Oriented -Develop relationships with key clients’ and identify and understand their needs. Develop and present solutions that address clients’ needs whilst maximising commercial profitability and awareness.
• Learning Agility -Requires a high level of adaptability to manage a naturally volatile workload within strict deadlines.
• Connecting - Develop sustainable client and internal relationships. Focus on achieving trusted partner relationships with clients.
• Delivering Results - Meeting strict deadlines and submitting high quality value-adding proposals.
• Influencing - Work well alongside peers, colleagues and partners and have a positive impact on business performance. Requires the ability to persuade and negotiate.

Salary: from c£27,000 to £32,000 dependant on experience

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
