Job description

Founded in 1432, Sevenoaks School enjoys a global reputation as a centre of academic excellence and a flagship school for the International Baccalaureate. A co-educational day and boarding school, it offers a stimulating, intellectually demanding and balanced education for over 1,100 students from ages 11 to 18. Sevenoaks is among the top schools in the UK. It has received the distinction of being The Sunday Times Independent Coeducational School of the Year and the Independent School of the Year for Student Wellbeing in 2023, and the UK Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) awarded Sevenoaks the rare accolade of 'Exceptional' for its pupils' achievement.

The Sevenoaks School Foundation is now seeking an experienced and dynamic Prospect Research Manager to join its rapidly expanding advancement team and help support an ambitious and transformative fundraising campaign ahead of the school's 600th anniversary in 2032. The campaign, led by the Headmaster, reflects the school's 'restless quest to improve and evolve' and will focus on providing more transformational bursaries, advancing the school campus plan and enabling Sevenoaks to become carbon neutral within a decade.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Advancement Services, this newly created post is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding data, research and insight professional to build the research function for a sector-leading campaign. The Prospect Research Manager will support the advancement of Sevenoaks School through a programme of Prospect Research and portfolio management that focuses on the identification, qualification and management of principal gift, major gift and high-value regular gift prospects. This will be achieved through a data-centric approach using best-practice tools and techniques to enrich our prospect pipeline. They will also have responsibility for developing, maintaining and implementing the Foundation's due diligence processes.

The role will likely suit a highly skilled professional with a successful track record supporting multi-GBPm fundraising campaigns in education, charities or the arts. Experience of working in a UK school environment is not essential, but candidates will be supportive of independent education in general and the Sevenoaks ethos in particular.
