Leonardo Helicopters are currently recruiting for a Systems Software Manager to work within their Product Support Engineering department. The main purpose of the role, is responsible for developing and supporting a software toolset making it easy to measure, understand, produce, and deliver Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and Technical Publication information.
Please note that this is a JFF Level 7 Engineering role.
What you'll be doing as the Product Support Engineering System Software Manager;Facilitate the development and sustainment of software applications to deliver Integrated Logistic Support data, Customer Technical and Operational Publications (Interactive PDF documentation) from Customer Support and Training (CS&T) functionDrive improvements through effectively advocating developments in hardware and software technologies in conjunction with ITProviding guidance on the Integrated Logistic Support and Technical Publication data structures and specifications to ensure the efficient and effective storage and maintenance of information within the applicationsSecuring and improving the consistency of data supply and quality by developing interfaces for effective data capture and extraction and liaison with external data providers and consumers for the maintenance and production of Integrated Logistic Support dataIntegrated Logistic Support system development software applications maintenance, enhancement and creationManage and understand the in-service data and how it can improve Production Services business efficiency and qualityEnsure effective roll out and deployment of software products and technologies into the customer and user domainDevelop the Integrated Electronic Technical Publication Application SoftwareMaintain, improve and create associated business applications to deliver the department's Production Services deliverablesEnsuring customers understand the value of providing consistent, high quality data and facilitate the process of obtaining itDeveloping understanding of the applications and the associated value they can deliver amongst the customer and internal business communities What we need from you;Educated to degree level in a related Computer Science or Engineering subject or suitable equivalentSolid understanding of software development life cycle models and how they support dataPrevious experience of writing, testing software and maintaining SQL data structuresStrong understanding of writing, testing and deploying software and maintaining data structures using industry standard toolsKnowledge and experience using web delivered applications (e.g. ASP.net, php) Microsoft client application, structured mark-up languages (e.g. SGML, XML), and data manipulation languages (eg. XSL, XSLT, XSL-FO)Ideally experience working in the aviation industry or other Engineering industry, particularly focused on aircraft maintenance and Integrated Logistical Support (ILS)Project management expertiseSecurity Clearance
