Teacher of Psychology and Sociology

Outwood Academy Danum, Doncaster

Required From Easter 2024 or sooner if possible

Full Time

Salary: MPS/UPS

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven professional to join our family of schools. We are a large 11-18 comprehensive school in the heart of Doncaster with a keen interest in growing our sixth form offer where sociology and psychology has been a popular subject. Our pupils achieve strong onward destinations as a result of effective teaching and support, and we are determined to provide a broad range of opportunities and enrichments for the children in our care. Outwood Academy Danum became part of the Outwood family of schools in September 2016. We were graded good in the last Ofsted inspection and continue to work to improve further. This is an opportunity for you to join us on our journey to further success.

An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject is essential with the ability to teach one or both subjects at A level: you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’, we put staff first so that they can put students first. Our staff are incredibly supportive of each other, and a real team ethos exists within the school. Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals looking for new opportunities.

The Outwood Grange Family of Schools offer:

  • The opportunity to work and progress across the family of schools.
  • The chance to apply for leadership roles working across the whole Academy.
  • A full and detailed programme of support and development for all.
  • A further comprehensive programme of professional development provided through the Outwood Institute of Education.

We believe that all teaching and support staff posts within our family of schools are key posts in terms of supporting student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious professionals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.

OGAT are proud to be a part of the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) hosting it’s North and East campus at Outwood Academy Redcar and Outwood Academy Adwick.
