A well-respected specialist school near Tadworth is looking for an Intervention and Pastoral Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The students range between 5-13 years old, and face a range of trauma and diagnoses, including:
- ASD
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Self-harm and suicide ideation
- Attachment difficulties
- Speech, language and communication needs
- Dyslexia and dyspraxia
The students therefore need an Intervention and Pastoral Assistant who will be a consistent role model, committed to building strong relationships, is empathetic, up for a challenge and committed to building essential life skills and minimising the risk of negative outcomes!
The ideal Intervention and Pastoral Assistant must be open-minded, resilient, and have an understanding of Mental Health. The perfect candidate will have experience with SEN children and/or adults in any setting. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Counselling would also be perfect for this position.
