Are you a Psychology graduate and interested in a career in teaching or want to get more experience working in school settings around the Leeds area? Veritas Education are offering Psychology graduates the chance to gain paid, long-term employment in a variety of schools across Leeds and surrounding areas. You could be placed in one setting for a longer-term position, or across various schools on a day-to-day basis covering staff absences (Suited to your own availability).

Throughout the Leeds area, Veritas Education are working closely with various SILC (Special Inclusive Learning Centres) based schools supporting children with additional/complex needs and Social, Emotional & Mental Health settings providing in class care for SEMH students, where they support learners from early years to KS5.

Across West Yorkshire, Head Teachers and senior leadership teams are looking more and more for eager and energetic University Graduates with a passion for teaching, supporting young learners and education, to become Teaching Assistants. This is an excellent way to enter the world of education, get a taste of teaching, familiarise yourself with school life and build a skill set that will help you greatly when it comes to applying for your PGCE course.

This will give you a key insight into the expectations and requirements that are to be an effective teacher or school psychologist in the future. Furthermore, this will allow you to experience a variety of schools and year groups which will help determine the PGCE course or route into other education-based roles that is right for you and which year group you are most effective in.
