Job Description

  • Leading the development and implementation of Public Affairs and Engagement strategies.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and communicating effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Overseeing the creation of policy briefings, consultation responses, and other relevant materials.
  • Working closely with the policy team to identify opportunities for engagement.
  • Ensuring the organisation's views and positions are accurately represented in public discourse.
  • Promoting transparency and trust within the organisation and its stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the impact of engagement activities.
  • Supporting team members and fostering a positive work environment.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Public Affairs and Engagement Officer should have:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Public Relations, or Political Science.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a policy team.
  • A strong understanding of the public sector and its key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to develop and implement effective engagement strategies.
  • Experience in managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.


Experience of working in transport policy will be helpful.
