About you:
We are looking for a self motivated individual who is dedicated to high standards, has a 'can do' attitude, and a problem solving approach. The ideal candidate will have experience in the use of heavy plant and machinery, with a background in horticulture and grounds maintenance. The candidate will ensure and maintain safe systems of work and undertake report writing and data collection as part of their role. The successful applicant will play a key role in keeping the city looking good by supporting frontline operations within our cemeteries, and be respectful and considerate to the needs of their role. They will be expected to be flexible in order to meet the operational demands of the service.
About the role:
Public and Green Space operatives work as part of a wide team, and play a significant role in keeping Exeter looking good. The role offers candidates a clear pathway for career progression, an annualised hours programme with reduced working hours in the winter, and enrolment in the Local Government Pensions scheme. Successful candidates may be expected to carry out on call and weekend duties.
About the team:
Exeter City Councils Public and Green Space department are responsible for the grounds maintenance of the city of Exeter, covering roles such as grass cutting, shrub maintenance and street cleansing to keep Exeter looking good.
