We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our team of lecturers in Public and Professional Industries (PPI) at Abingdon & Witney College.
Applications are invited from innovative and flexible Lecturers but also experienced industry professionals looking to enter the world teaching. There will be opportunities to teach on a range of programmes, but will predominantly include Public Services qualifications (levels 1, 2 and 3) to students 16-18 years of age. Experience of teaching in Further Education to this age group is preferable but applications are welcome from individuals working in the Uniformed Protective Services, or related roles, and looking for a change of their career. Appropriate training, support and development will be available for successful candidates.
The successful candidate will join an experienced and collaborative, passionate team of staff in a large faculty which also includes Business, Sport, Hair & Beauty, Health & Social Care and Early Years. If selected for interview, you will also be required to deliver a short teaching session to students.
This is a fantastic chance to work with young people and make a difference for them and their career choices. We work in partnership with employers and charities to provide our students with the best opportunities to develop their employability skills alongside their vocational studies. The PPI faculty is home to hundreds of bright and enthusiastic students, and talented and experienced staff. We are passionate about providing the qualifications and training that local employers and communities need
Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET), within your first year of joining the college.
This role may be eligible for the 'Taking Teaching Further (TTF)' programme, which supports professionals as they move into teaching in the further education sector. Support from the TTF programme can include an initial reduction in teaching workload and enrolment onto teacher training.
In return, Abingdon & Witney College offer excellent benefits to our employees including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme and much more.
