We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to support a pupil on a 1-2-1 basis at a secondary school in Coulsdon. This role is crucial for assisting a student who is transitioning from part time to full time learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational support and a passion for helping students overcome challenges to succeed academically as well as experience mentoring and coaching young adults with their general wellbeing.
Day to Day of the role:- Provide targeted support to a male pupil through interventions in both group settings and dedicated 1-2-1 sessions.
- Develop a strong rapport with the pupil to foster independent learning and self-confidence.
- Collaborate with the pupil’s guardians to ensure consistent support both in and out of school.
- Monitor the pupil’s progress and adapt strategies to meet their evolving educational needs.
- Proven experience in a school environment as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Behaviour Mentor.
- Familiarity with additional needs and interpreting EHCP milestones.
- A solid understanding of the UK curriculum and the ability to engage pupils with learning content.
- A bright personality with empathy, a sense of humour, and resilience to challenging behaviour.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
