Purchasing Assistant - 6 Month FTC

A well-known Food producer requires a Purchasing Assistant on a 6 Month FTC. Applicants should have a background in; buying, purchasing or supply chain, have strong organisational and administrative skills.

The Purchasing Assistant will join a supportive team of Buyers reporting to a Supply Chain Manager. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for operational procurement tasks around the company SAP system, purchase order creation/development and supplier liaison.

Specific duties of the Purchasing Assistant include:

• Ensure continuity of supply to the facilities of goods and services
• Supplier liaison - monitor performance and rapport building activities
• Maintain procurement department data in SAP
• Raising and expediting of purchase orders
• Administration tasks in support of the Procurement function.

Purchasing Assistant applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous; purchasing, buying, supply chain, logistics or similar experience
• Strong administration skills
• Familiarity with a business system, such as SAP
• Collaborative, team player
• Happy to work on a 6 Month FTC basis
