We have a great opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join our client in their busy finance and procurement team on a 6 month contract!
Role:Purchasing Assistant
Hours: Part time - 24 hours per week working preferably over 4 or 5 days (Monday-Friday)
Salary DOE
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and issue purchase orders and stock MRP order including correct contractual arrangements and cost allocation.
- Benchmark and negotiate goods and services (liaising with the senior buyer) to ensure competitive pricing from existing and new vendors.
- Ensure all SAP vendors are maintained to a high level with contract terms and conditions details.
- Ensure best practice on Procurement processes (liaising with senior buyer).
- Awareness of PUK standard commercial requirements (liaising with senior buyer).
The ideal candidate:
- Working knowledge of SAP MM system or a similar system.
- High accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to follow processes/procedures.
- Excellent communication skills required for continual stakeholder focused support.
- Good negotiation skills and basic commercial awareness.
- Understanding of terms & conditions (under guidance of senior buyer).
- Competent user of MS systems including word, outlook and excel.
