One of our clients in the Cynon Valley is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their expanding Purchasing Department team. The main responsibilities would be the following: supplier management; maintaining and update the MRP system and processing data in line with business requirements; reacting to demand in the system and ensuring actions are taken to mitigate any risks; run daily reports; raising purchase ordered and maintaining stock levels to support sales with monitoring levels; provide technical advice and support the sales team; develop and recommend new supplier relationships; run reports on a regular basis; involvement of new product development and the process; standardisation, reduce complexity and improve purchasing power; effective communication with other business functions.
By managing specific suppliers and business requirements through the procurement process and identifying opportunities for cost saving and improvement, the successful candidate will quickly become a key member of the team.
