Purchasing Assistant

Due to a sustained period of growth, Borne Interiors have an exciting opportunity for experienced PROJECT SUPPORT to join their hard-working team at their offices & warehouse in STOURBIRDGE.

Role Overview:

This role is to assist in the procurement process by monitoring stock levels, researching vendors, tracking orders and maintaining purchasing records. You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of suppliers and goods. This is including raising purchase orders, using Sage 50 daily and managing a stock inventory. You will also need to liaise with couriers and delivery teams, trusted suppliers and interact with various departments within the company.

Accuracy and efficiency in written and verbal communication is a critical skill for this role. This position offers the opportunity to build a career in an upcoming and exciting furniture brand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with suppliers to ensure deliveries are in on time and communicate this through to relevant departments.
• Proficient in using Sage software to raise Purchase Orders and book deliveries in.
• Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery.
• Monitoring stock levels of goods brought in bulk from overseas suppliers.
• Negotiating prices with suppliers to secure the best cost-effective product.
• Maintaining accurate records and entering data on Excel and Sage.
• Organising delivery notes and working with the wider team to ensure all paperwork and bookings are in place for deliveries.
• Offer support and solutions to team members and co-workers.
• Strong communication skills both on the phone and email.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 1-2 years in a Purchasing Assistant job role.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient user of IT systems, both Sage and Microsoft packages (essential).
• Ability to work under pressure and a quick thinker.
• Highly organised, perceptive, and motivated person.
• A true problem solver, passionate to resolve any issue that might arise.
• Multi task and juggle assignments and responsibility.
