Position Summary

The Purchasing Executive is responsible for completing all purchases in accordance with Claranet UK Finance guidelines and delivering consistent cost avoidance on an ongoing basis across all spend categories.

Role Mission

The Purchasing Executive will support the Procurement team to deliver consistent savings across all spend categories.

Objectives and Key Results

Deliver all purchasing activities and maximise cost avoidance and rebate savings where applicable.

Essential duties and responsibilities 

  • Verifying costs with suppliers and in particular assisting with multi-site quoting for large telco (special bids).
  • Responding daily to all queries arising from other teams.
  • Identifying alternative pricing options and suppliers which may provide competitive advantage.
  • Raising purchase requisitions and purchase orders and ordering from suppliers.
  • Ensuring the correct specifications are ordered and delivered by the supplier.
  • Assisting the Purchasing Specialist with price books and sharing costs with the Financial Planning and Analysis teams for pricing tools.
  • Timely turnaround of pricing and order placement to agreed operations level agreement between departments.
  • In conjunction with the Category Manager and Purchasing Specialist reviewing key areas of spend and preparing a pipeline of savings opportunities.
  • Monitoring auto-renewals and liaising with business stakeholders to ensure termination windows not elapsed
  • Assisting the Purchasing Specialist with reporting on cost avoidance measures and achievements against savings targets.
  • Ensuring that purchases are placed through key suppliers to drive savings through rebate schemes.

  • Commercial / Purchasing experience advantageous.
  •  Working knowledge of supplier ordering tools advantageous
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritise, multitask and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously for important clients and large organisations.
  • Excellent organisational skills & experience of project management
  • Be proactive, have the ability to work on own initiative as well as within a team in a support capacity.
