Job Outline:
A market leader in fiberoptics is now looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their Management Team in Suffolk.
Reporting to the MD, you will manage a team of Purchasing and Stores staff, assuming responsibility for sourcing, procurement, materials management, and supply chain activities.
You will be responsible for the strategic relationships with global supply partners and subcontractors, monitoring, and optimising performances to very high standards.
A key focus of the Purchasing Manager will be the measuring and managing of supplier performance; producing KPIs working with vendors in liaison with the quality team to address problems promptly, effectively, and collaboratively to ensure continuous supplier development.
You will manage all inbound and outbound goods, including from delivery, storage, materials issuing, WIP and despatch of finished goods.
You will develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the company’s current and future objectives. This will include managing orders, ensuring stock levels meet business requirements with strict materials/inventory controls.
You will ensure all purchasing activities including importing and exporting of goods comply with local, national and international regulations.
Experience:
As the successful Purchasing Manager, you should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Purchasing role, gained in a similar technical manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
A Degree or Equivalent in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
