An exciting position has become available for a full-time Purchasing planner based in Surrey. The successful candidate will earn £39,000.00 per annum. Candidates should be local, as relocation expenses will not be paid.
Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday with a one-hour lunch break.
Role Requirements
- Business/commercial degree preferred, or equivalent qualifications
- Experienced in purchasing, preferably in a chemical environment
- Familiarity with SAP is a plus
- Strong Excel skills required
- Knowledge of incoterms, import/export procedures/customs clearance an advantage
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to drive cost reductions and business improvements
Role Responsibilities
Responsible for site based Purchasing activities, working under guidance from UK Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing & SC Head Office.
- Schedule on time inbound deliveries of raw materials to support production schedule/avoid delays.
- Control stock levels within budget, reduce obsolescence, and minimize batch sizes for slow-moving items during purchasing.
- To support New Product Introduction and the Formulation Change
- Develop supplier relationships and maintain contracts
- Purchasing of non-direct material/services.
- Develop and implement purchasing policies to meet business objectives
- Identify opportunities for cost savings
