Role Overview
The QA team forms part of the Agile delivery team for TP ICAP products. Team members work closely with end users, product management, developers and support teams to assess enhancement requests and facilitate the smooth transition of changes from inception to release. As part of the global QA function, team members coordinate their daily work with team members across regions. An important aspect is the automation of test cases and improvement of regression test packs. QA team members are interested in learning about TP ICAPs trading activities and are comfortable in engaging with Front Office stakeholders and Group functions like Risk or Trade Management when discussing and agreeing requirements.
The successful candidate will be able to work on multiple projects in parallel, have very strong time management skills and be comfortable prioritising tasks.
Role Responsibilities
Contribute to the delivery of prioritised business initiatives in the context of test & release management related activities
Elicit and understand functional and non-functional requirements in order to release quality software solutions
Collaborate with internal and external teams, identify and solve complex problems and review related information to evaluate and develop solutions.
Coordinate test activities across multiple projects and product streams to develop and execute coherent, achievable and realistic test execution plans
Ensure deliverables (such as user stories & requirements) that provide input in to test execution are completed to a consistent level of detail
Facilitation of sprint ceremonies including sprint retrospectives, planning and backlog grooming.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, clear and concise manner
Communicate with the wider technology teams to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues such as environment readiness and reference data
Liaise with test management to agree and support the implementation of testing strategies
Coordinate releases into non-production and production environments with support teams and conduct post-implementation checkouts
Management and collaboration of the UAT process
Assist and facilitate prioritisation of software defects and enhancements using defect management tools such as Jira
Develop test execution packs and test strategies
Experience / Competences
Essential
Ability to work on multiple tasks whilst managing multiple deadlines and priorities
Proven experience in software testing & release management, problem solving, documentation and working to tight deadlines
Ability to self-start, identify tasks required independently to fulfil project deliverables and work as a team member
Understanding the full project lifecycle from requirements capture through to implementation and delivery
A proven track record of designing and conducting tests for high quality software to business specification whilst understanding processes and requirements.
Ability to use own initiative, with strong personal organisation skills
Ability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required
Communicates effectively and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others
Excellent attention to detail, highly organised with a proactive approach
Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
Experience with QA methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
