Job description

Role: QA Inspector

Length: 12 months

Location: New Malden - Hybrid working 2 days per week in office. Will require once per 2 weeks travel to sites around UK to North East, Stockport and Milton Kaynes.

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Security Cleared QA Inspector to join our dynamic team in a secure (SC Cleared) environment. The successful candidate will possess NACE or ICorr qualification and will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in the inspection of coatings and paint. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to produce credible and reliable reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of coatings and paint to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilize specialized techniques and toolsets to validate the integrity and adherence of materials and processes.
  • Ensure that all inspections are documented accurately and that reports are credible and reliable.


Domain Specialization:

    • Apply in-depth knowledge of coatings and paint applications, particularly on aluminum substrates, to ensure proper adhesion and durability.
    • Understand the chemistry involved in coatings and paint applications to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
    • Inspect welding and electrical components with precision, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
    • Verify the functionality and security of software components within the SC Cleared environment.
  1. Team Collaboration:

    • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary QA team, each member bringing specialized skills to the table.
    • Support colleagues by sharing expertise and providing guidance on best practices in your area of specialization.
  2. Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure all inspections comply with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
    • Prepare detailed inspection reports that provide a clear, concise, and credible account of findings.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations based on inspection results.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Mandatory:

    • Security Clearance (SC Cleared)
    • NACE or ICorr qualification.
    • Proven experience in a QA inspection role, preferably within a secure environment.
    • Strong understanding of coatings and paint application processes, particularly on aluminum.
    • Familiarity with welding, software, and electrical inspection techniques.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable:

    • Experience in a multidisciplinary QA team.
    • Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices.
    • Strong communication and report writing skills.
