This role is working for a successful BRC AA Graded food manufacturer. The company produces high-quality food products and exceptional service - enabling their food manufacturing customers to innovate and increase productivity without compromising on quality.
About the QA Technician job
The purpose of your role will be to ensure that products meet the customer-approved specifications and the legal requirements according to FSA standards and company procedures.
Key tasks
- Maintain accurate records of all quality paperwork received and/or returned from other Departments and ensure tasks (QA Matrix) and any other requested activities are completed within the designated timescales.
- Ensure that all quality and food safety systems are operated throughout all departments with full documentation and that they meet the requirements within the BRC Global Food standard and legislation.
- Assist with customer complaints: identify root causes and determine corrective actions required to prevent further complaints; ensure complaints are closed out as per company procedure. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, external contacts and colleagues. Prepare and assist in customer visits and site technical audits where necessary.
About You
The successful candidate shall have proven experience of working in a Quality Assurance environment and ideally be educated to degree level in Food Science. In addition, HACCP and Food Safety qualifications are essential.
- PC literate as well as an excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbally.
- Able to plan and organise work efficiently and effectively, work under pressure and to deadlines.
Work independently and as part of a team with a proactive attitude. Excellent attention to detail that reflects thorough and accurate work.

The QA Technician job is based in Wigan, Lancashire and pays £24,000 - £26,000 according to your experience.

The working hours are rotating shifts on a three-weekly schedule as per the below -
Week 1 Monday – Thursday 06:00–14:30 & Friday 06:00-13:30
Week 2 Monday – Thursday 08:00-16:30 & Friday 07:30 – 15:00
Week 3 Monday – Wednesday 11:30-22:00 & Thursday 12:00-22:00
