Our global client requires an experienced QHSE Officer to join their team based in Birmingham for a minimum period of 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day management of the documented management systems for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001, including planning, development, implementation, and training of the management system.
- Establish and provide Leadership in best practice in safety, health, environmental, and sustainability (QHSE) matters in conjunction with the QHSE function.
- Coordinating health and safety input across Business Unit contracts. Managing the workload of the Health & Safety Advisors and ensuring the Project Manager and employees are aware of their Health & Safety responsibilities
- Ensure management controls are in place so that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
- Take a lead with site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the QHSE Plans.
- Oversee all external certifications on behalf of OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and CHAS scheme accreditation.
- Development and management of the Collaborative Working Management system and external certification
- Manage and carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and workplaces to determine whether work is being carried out according to Company Policy, Procedures, and the relevant Statutory Provisions.
- Lead, partake, and oversee accident/incident investigations by the Company procedure and, analyzing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
- Manage, collate, and review Business / Contract QHSE statistics promptly and submit them to the QHSE Department for reporting purposes.
- Develop and implement QHSE campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the Operations Director / Heads of QHSE.
- Identification and development of HSE training including specific safety training and competence management
- Oversee and monitor contractor management including administration of a specialist permit to access the system for all work activities.
You will also travel to other sites in the U.K. and have the use of a company car for these visits
