Job description

Overview:

The post holder will lead Somer Valley Medical Group in managing the delivery of high achievement in QOF and all other clinical and non-clinical contracts in order to enable the practice to provide optimal care to patients whilst ensuring that returns are made within required timescales in order to maximise income. Inclusion of staff at all levels in implementing new software packages and associated training.

Responsibilities:

· Assist the Lead GP with the ongoing development and implementation of the strategies to maximise QOF and other contracts in which the practice engages.

· The contracts to include the clinical elements of core practice work as required under the practice’s PMS contract, CQRS, CHILD IMMS, CERVICAL SCREENING, FLU & COVID CAMPAIGN, DES’s & LES’s now generally referred to as Locally Commissioned Services (LCS) and commissioned by NHS England Area Team / CCG as well as those for Public Health England and the Local Authority Public Health.

· To become the practice expert in aspects of the clinical system relating to searches (reports) templates, protocols and be able to train other users, both clinical and non-clinical in the best use of the system in relation to these.

· To manage the call/recall system to ensure that patients are called routinely for their checks and reviews.

· To review the distribution and manage of appointment types to ensure that there are adequate numbers to accommodate all those patients needing regular reviews.

· To advise the practice where problems occur and liaise with reception lead in the fulfilment of the annual plan of appointments in order that interventions can be made to rectify any shortfall or redistribute any under take-up.

· To review the requirements of any new contract, providing advice regarding any change in provision or delivery and to work with the appropriate lead GP to plan for the achievement of any new service.

· To review and advise of any changes in the service specifications for QOF and other regular annual contracts so that changes to coding etc. can be implemented in time for the new contract start and appropriate training can be provided if required.

· Ability to understand and amend where necessary the system processes e.g. TPP searches to update these as required and regularly run searches and send invites.

· To make data returns to those who commission services from the practice, in a timely manner in order that the practice receives the payments due at the appropriate time.

· Report to the Lead GP or Managing Partner any significant events relating to the QOF and contracts in order that solutions and resolution can be quickly implemented.

· Maintain records of practice returns and supporting documentation in order to substantiate any audits that commissioners may wish to undertake as part of validation or practice returns.

· To identify inefficiencies in practice routines in order to develop improved ways of working and so improve practice efficiency, patient safety and satisfaction.

· Any other duties commensurate with skills and responsibilities.

Required:
– Proven experience in data governance or related field.
– Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
– Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
– Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
– Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-Have:
– Experience in a similar role within a General Practice environment.
