Qualified Independent Professional Advocate working based in Pontypridd Heat Office, working across Gwent authorities.
We are open to discussions around job-share / part time hours
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
Holidays: 30 days plus Bank Holidays
We wish to recruit a qualified Independent Professional Advocate to deliver
our Independent Advocacy service across Gwent authorities. This position will
be based in our head office, in Pontypridd.
The successful applicant will need to be dynamic and self-motivated, work on
their own initiative and are fiercely committed to the rights of disabled people
and to the value of advocacy. You will be computer literate with a high
standard of written and verbal communication. You will need to have achieved
QCF Level 4 Diploma in Independent Professional Advocacy (level 3 is
acceptable if undertaken prior to the launch of level 4).
As an Independent Professional Advocate, you will be working with individuals
to ensure their voices are heard in decisions that affect their care and support
and ensuring their rights are upheld. The post holder must be confident in
supporting and representing individual disabled people and carers in a variety
of situations and in respect of diverse issues.
Dewis C.I.L. is an independent voluntary organisation with an integrated
management committee of disabled and non-disabled people. We particularly
encourage disabled people and people with direct experience of disability to
apply. This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check. Closing date for
