Randstad are currently recruiting for a Locum Social Worker to join an Emergency Duty Team in the Tameside, Greater Manchester area. The role of the EDT Social Worker is to promote and safeguarding the welfare of children in need and looked after children. The team work on a rota basis that provides cover when daytime offices are closed on evenings, weekends and bank holidays which rotates over 3 weeks including working 2 out of 3 weekends.

- Within this role you will be carrying out an initial assessment of the presenting situation and establish a safe and viable solution pending follow up by the daytime services.
- You will be providing a high-quality, effective social work service to respond to the needs of children and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guideline
- 3-5 years' experience of working within a similar social work setting
- A diploma/degree or equivalent in social work
- Social Work England registration
- Ability to work autonomously out of hours
- Good risk assessment skills
- Experience of dealing with people in crisis
