About the role:
- Work with multi agency colleagues to prevent the offending and re-offending of children.
- Provide supervision, support, and monitoring of those children who come into contact with, or are at risk of coming into contact with, the formal Youth Justice System.
- Assume overall responsibility for allocated statutory Court Orders and Out of Court disposals.
- Ensure that all assessments, interventions, and contacts are undertaken in line with YJB National Standards and the values and procedures of Powys Children’s Services.

- Must have knowledge and commitment to the principles and underpinning values of social care as embodied in relevant legislation
What you will do:
- To hold Case Management responsibility for Statutory Orders and Out of Court disposals and ensure supervision and contact takes place in line with The Youth Justice Board’s National Standards and Children’s Services processes.
- Develop and provide imaginative and innovative programmes and interventions, including group work programmes, with a view to supporting and preventing children and young people from re-offending.
- Monitor outcomes for children in the Youth Justice System and advise managers/colleagues of any gaps in provision and suggestions for improvement.
- Liaise with children and their parents and carers to ensure the ongoing appropriateness of the intervention plan.
- Timely administration of all aspects of caseload to ensure that the recorded caseload fairly reflects the work done.
- To keep abreast of national legislation and local developments relevant to young people who offend and share information with colleagues where relevant.
