Job description

The Education Quality and Policy Office (EQPO) seeks a dedicated individual to join our friendly, enthusiastic team.

EQPO is responsible for the quality assurance of all taught higher education provision, and for University-wide education-related policies. The team is part of the Education and Student Outcomes Department within Education Services. It comprises the Head, four Quality and Policy Managers, and an Administrator. We work closely with the Postgraduate Research Office (PGRO) which is responsible for non-taught postgraduate education across the University, and with various other teams across Education Services and beyond.

Subject to the General Board's oversight, EQPO is charged with the development and implementation of educational and student-related strategies and policies as they apply to those of the University's 24,000 students (undergraduate, postgraduate and part-time) studying taught courses.

The role-holder supports the Head of EQPO in the development and implementation of student-centred education policy and quality assurance functions and, in doing so, will develop a wide-ranging knowledge of national developments in Higher Education. They will become familiar with the University's Quality Assurance Framework, using it to inform their QA work and signposting it to internal contacts when necessary. The role holder also acts as the key EQPO contact for a set of Faculties and Departments, providing advice and guidance around internal quality assurance arrangements for teaching, learning and assessment, their means of addressing University policies and guidance, and other matters which come under EQPO's remit. The liaison aspect requires the role-holder to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key contacts to encourage mutual trust, and the provision of general and specific advice to staff at all levels.
