Quality Assurance and Casework Officer (Scale 6)
We have a number of exciting new opportunities available in our Private Rented Property Licensing Team.
As a Quality Assurance and Casework Officer, you will work within the Environmental Health service, part of the Council's Community Safety & Environmental Health Division.
You will assist with the provision of a high quality and effective casework system, using templates and standard wording to ensure consistent messages are delivered to stakeholders and members, but also identifying where these need to be adapted to suit the circumstances of the case. You will help draft responses to correspondence, complaints, Members Enquiries, and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
You will have a role ensuring that details are recorded accurately on our digital system and review the evidence and circumstances of licence application cases, to determine if the correct process has been followed.
With an eye for detail, you will promote good practice and determine if something has gone wrong that needs to be put right.
Professional development is central to the dynamics of this new team and training will be provided on background of relevant legislation, and the needs and challenges in the private rented sector.
As of the 1st of January 2024, we will be extending our licensing scheme to help raise standards in the private housing sector. As part of the Our Greenwich plan, we want to ensure that our private sector landlords provide well-managed, decent and a safe standard of private rented accommodation. You will join a team whose mission is very much about ensuring that people in Greenwich have access to safe and secure housing that meets their needs, whilst striving to be the 'best or better' in the services we deliver each and every day.
As a Quality Assurance and Casework Officer, you will be a confident communicator with an eye for detail who is able to work equally well in a team and independently. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience of working with private sector housing, similar regulatory compliance-based processes, and/or with experience in a local authority setting.
The successful candidates will be eligible to take part in the Council's flexible working arrangements, and hybrid working to help you achieve a good work/life balance.
