Job description

Role: Quality Assurance Auditor

Location: Wellingborough

Hours: 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday

Basic Salary: £26900

Do you have experience in Quality Assurance? Are you passionate about maintaining high standards and intersted in working in the food industry?

My client supplies many of the biggest retailers in the UK and they're looking for a deidcated individual to join their estabilsed Quality Assurance team.

Job Purpose:

To support the Quality Manager in maintaining product safety, quality and legality of all products and processes in line with specific customer codes of practice. To protect Brand Integrity and maintain customer's trust by ensuring robust procedures and monitoring are in place. To promote and encourage a system of continuous improvement in the factory over all shifts and functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a support to the Quality Manager.
  • Act as a support to operators, Shift Managers and Process Leaders, escalating quality, food safety or legality issues to the Quality Manager as and when they arise.
  • To maintain factory compliance through auditing programmes.
  • Carry out quality analysis by conducting a taste panel for the product produced.
  • Carry out traceability exercises to agreed schedule or when/if required.
  • To make sure sampling requirements are met and submissions are carried out in a timely manner.
  • To maintain factory equipment compliance for food safety, quality and legality.
  • To attend standard business meetings and deputise for Quality Manager when appropriate.
  • To drive the closure of non-conformances.
  • Deliver compliance training and competency assessments when required.
  • Support new launches by managing factory quality parameters.

Skills Required:

  • Good communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise workload to ensure that all work is completed in time and in full.
  • Good problem solving skills with a logical approach
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Good attention to detail
  • Confident in being able to challenge the status quo to maintain product quality, safety and legality.
  • Internal audit experience essential.
  • Act professionally at all times when presenting the business during external or supplier audits. Customer exposure during visits and audits.
  • Good level of computer literacy.
  • Awareness of risk assessing processes.
  • Good level (At least Basic level) of computer literacy (Word and Excel) (Essential).
  • Flexibility to work over a set shift pattern when required.
  • Flexibility to work on different sites when or if required.
