The Purpose of the Role:

To ensure the Poole Bakery operation meets company, customers, BRC standards and legal requirements and products are safe, legal and are of the agreed quality standard. As a QA Manager, you will be will be working very closely with our Factory Technical Managers to ensure that food safety, legality and quality standards are set and maintained in the manufacturing environment. To be able to deliver the specified standard of product to the customer all the time, within the requirements of the law, customer codes of practice and good manufacturing practice.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and audit compliance to quality standards and procedures to ensure that product integrity and due diligence are maintained
  • Report results of non-compliance and audits to operational management and agree actions to drive continuous improvement
  • Drive continual improvement to QMS through trending and establishing the root cause of non-conformity
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety and Quality Assurance practices from Group
  • Manage Night tasting panels and drive action to ensure that products are to customer specification
  • Investigate and resolve food safety/quality incidents and complaints through root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions and preventative measures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Work with cross-functional teams to embed a Food Safety and Quality Culture within the factory
  • Conduct clean verification and validation with accordance to customer standard
  • Conduct and implement food safety and quality projects
  • Compile KPI data and technical reports as scheduled for the business
  • Develop risk assessment and implementation of control measure to reduce the risk to protect the product
  • Support, encourage and develop departmental managers and supervisors in their performance and the achievement of their tasks to the necessary company standards
  • Support in preparing and organising the team for internal and external visitors and audits, effectively promoting the department, building confidence and long-term relationships


Education

  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science or related subject
  • Extensive knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in a food manufacturing environment
