QA/Test and Inspection

About the Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance (QA) representative to join our team based in Havant to assist with the support and advice on aspects of regulatory and 3rd party certifications associated with the LM presence on various sites.
In the early stages of your Quality career, you'll have some experience of expected QA activities and will learn the ways of LM and the customers it supports such as UK MoD programmes across LAND, SEA (including sub-surface) and AIR, with the added aspect now including Space. You'll also provide QA assistance to any delegated signatory for equipment release should it be requested and would be required to undertake Root Cause investigation and process improvement activities, to drive improved performance. Supply chain monitoring and assessment, including subcontractor site audits, inspections, etc. in collaboration with other functions, will also be required.
Activities include but not limited to:
  • Quality Assurance of the various programmes across LM UK RMS as required.
  • Assist and supports inspection and acceptance of modification/up-grades carried out on equipment.
  • Quality Assurance across the CADMID/T cycle where required.
  • Arranging, Planning and supporting audits from external (customer, regulatory and certification assessment) bodies.
  • Engagement with external industry, Government and Military Quality Assurance staff.
  • Assist with auditing and approval of suppliers.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Qualified AS9100 Internal Auditor (preferred) or Qualified Lead or Internal Auditor in one of the following ISO9001, 2000, 27001 or TickITplus, or experience of conducting audits themselves.
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a recognised engineering qualification (e.g. apprenticeship, or time-served in armed forces engineering / technical discipline).
  • Familiar with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Familiar with estimating work loading and task management.
  • Ability to work with and influence across multiple functions and levels within a small team
  • Ability to achieve security clearance (SC) to Secret is essential.
  • An understanding of a Business Management Systems e.g. Command Media and Requirements.
  • Familiar with Process Modelling and maintenance.
  • Familiar with administrative support to management meetings.
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with and influence across multiple functions and levels within a small team.
