The role:
Working for our well established manufacturing client in Kendal you will report to the Quality Managers. You will be responsible for Grading Internally produced product and Raw ingredients, monitoring and replying to customer complaints and trending lab results over time. This is a great opportunity for an individual to take on a new challenge, build on their current experience and develop themselves across different areas of the factory.
This is a full time role based at our headquarters in Kendal. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 however 9-5 or 10 - 6 can also be considered too.
Responsibilities:
- Record and advise on chemistry and microbiological testing results
- Product grading
- Raw material grading
- Responding to customer complaints
- Managing vendor complaints
- Handling and investigating CAPAs
- Tracking bypass rates
- Writing and tracking quality concessions
- Environmental clean sign off
- Trending results over time and reporting to the Quality Manager
- Complying with safety and hygiene procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role
Skills, Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
Experience:
- Be self-motivated and a great team player.
- Be organised, efficient and methodical.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Be analytically minded and continuous improvement focused.
- Be quality focussed with a drive to ensure standards are upheld.
- Have excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft.
- Professional communication skills at all levels.
Desirable:
- BSc in Food Science/Technology or similar subject.
- Experience in a Quality Assurance role is highly desirable.
- Experience of working within the consumer goods/manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of BRC, Regulatory and customer requirements is desirable.
