Role: QA Test Engineer
Location: Edinburgh

CT19 are working with a growing biotech company in Edinburgh, enabling cell therapy manufacturing at scale by revealing novel insights into our client’s bioprocesses. Using a revolutionary spectroscopy technique to create an impartial & holistic cell analysis technology, ranging from microchip integrated sensors to powerful analytics.
As QA Engineer, you will act as an internal support backbone, representing the most advanced central competency. Sharing your expertise related to the technical platform with all internal stakeholders. Performing proactive & responsive maintenance towards the technology platforms’ performances. Take ownership over field platform fleet readiness for trial purposes, including overhaul & release testing.
Responsibilities:
- Support Application Specialists & collaborators/customers as first internal point of contact
- Prepare & assemble units (hardware & fluidic connections), test consumables modules on platforms
- Support QA-related documentation protocols & reports, audit trails & next product iterations’ qualifications (IQ/OQ), Hardware & Software Design & Functional Specifications
- Document & communicate customer feedback, support root-cause investigations & relay findings across a multi-disciplinary matrix organisation
- Implement corrective/preventive actions, actively suggest product & process improvements
- Conduct regular training sessions to qualify Application Specialists to ensure an elevated technical level.
- Blend of remote meetings along with up to 25% travel, & on-site work (including reporting)
Knowledge & Experiences:
- Relevant degree (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related) & hands-on experience in instrumentation and/or automated systems
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a product quality related role, preferably in the life sciences industry
- Thrive in a fast-paced dynamic work environment, ability to prioritise under pressure & reliably deliver on multiple projects in parallel
- Experience in performing testing field / test benching related tasks such as proof of life testing, functionality against specification testing, debugging, & release testing
- Proven ability to apply best practices & continuous improvement.
- Expertise in macro- and micro-fluidic applications & highly advantageous. Applied best practise in identifying error patterns, root-cause analysis and problem solving is desirable.
