Job description

A Quality Assurance Tester with at least 12 months of QA experience is needed to join the team at this award-winning vendor in the Experimentation and Personalisation space based in Egham on a full-time basis. 

As a QA Tester, you will play a crucial role in testing website optimisation projects developed using their cutting-edge solution. You will work closely with their agile web development teams, contributing to the delivery of flawless digital experiences for their clients.  

The position is located at their UK Headquarters in Egham, Surrey. The job involves extensive time working at a computer, and a flexible home working policy would be available following a probation period.

About the Role

They are seeking a passionate, curious, quick learner and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to join their dynamic team. If you're a proactive self-starter looking to kickstart your career in Quality Assurance and make a meaningful impact in the digital optimisation space, this is an exciting opportunity for you. 

This position is internally facing. The successful candidate must have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build solid and professional working relationships with internal team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives
  • Design, develop, and execute test cases for website optimisation projects
  • Visual, functional, regression & usability testing to ensure the highest quality standards are met
  • Logging defects accurately and comprehensively for developers to resolve
  • Retesting fixes and regressions to verify issues are resolved
  • Provide suggestions on improving test coverage
  • Creating basic test plans and test cases
  • Performing simple data validation checks
  • Testing across browsers, devices, and platforms as needed

Required Experience:

  • At least 12 months experience working in a QA role, an internship, or holding a relevant degree
  • Highly detail-oriented with a motivated, can-do attitude and ability to learn quickly
  • Basic understanding of QA methodologies and concepts
  • Knowledge of responsive web design and testing on different devices/browsers/applications
  • Proven in managing projects to tight schedules and precise deadlines
  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively in high-pressure, multi-tasking situations
  • Technical aptitude with an understanding of how browsers, HTTP and cookies work

Desirable Experience:

  • Understanding of website optimisation or A/B testing concepts and techniques
  • Technical background/understanding of software development/web technologies
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Chrome Dev Tools
  • Good understanding of regular expressions
  • Basic SQL, programming, or automation scripting skills  
  • Experience constructing & performing QA procedures on modern, dynamic web pages
  • Experience or familiarity with Jira and knowledge of using defect tracking tools like Testrail
