This is an exciting new position and will be varied and challenging, working collaboratively across various teams throughout the charity. This is a technical position and will need to work closely with our outsourced development partner to ensure our needs are met.
The primary focus will be testing of our bespoke eDofE product and App, over development and release cycle. We operate within an Azure DevOps environment and are planning to move to a full DevOpsSec model with the help of this position and our Cyber Security team.
The Role
At its core, the technology team is enabling our wider strategic ambition and vision for the charity. The scale and reach of what we do is significant with c30% of 14 years olds having an account on our platforms. Through our internal ‘Technology Without Limits’ strategy, we aim to be recognised as leaders within the third sector. This role is pivotal in helping to make this happen.
Key accountabilities
- Understanding and ability to build test automation and within a DevOps environment.
- Executing test scripts within the schedules agreed and report back on product quality.
- Plan, carry out and document the testing of software.
- Work closely with other areas of the business to understand the system’s functional and non-functional requirements.
- Communicate significant issues or developments identified during Quality Assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements.
- Work closely with the Development and Support Managers to build testing scenarios, reduce risk and ensure software quality.
- Passionate commitment to change and making things better with the use of technology.
We’re looking for someone:
- Previous experience in software and web testing
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and the Quality Assurance/testing role.
- A passion for software quality and the testing process.
- Recognised qualification in testing such as ISTQB.
