Job description

Due to continued growth our client is looking for a Quality Auditor to join their team on a part time basis. Role Purpose Support the BRC Coordinator to maintain the site compliance and verification schedules to ensure compliance with BRCGS Food Safety requirements, and to ensure that the site is complying operationally with standards. Responsibility Auditing: As a member of the site Internal Auditing Team System, complete Food Safety and Quality Management System, Cleaning Standards, Glass & Hard Plastic, Hygiene & Fabrication and other audits to monitor compliance with regulatory and BRCGS Food Safety requirements. Ensure that non-conformances are included in the Corrective & Preventive Action System and assigned to appropriate site personnel. Assist in the root cause analysis, verification and closure of audit non-conformances. Schedule and document Internal Audit Meetings, Management Review Meetings, HACCP Meetings, HACCP Review Meetings, ensuring full agendas are covered and minutes include actions, timescales and responsibilities. Proactively manage actions agreed. Monitor, trend, analyse and report on the Corrective and Preventive Action System, including Non-Conformance Reporting and Monitoring and Hold & Release Systems. Food Safety & Quality Management System: Manage and maintain the site Compliance and Verification schedule to meet regulatory and BRCGS Food Safety requirements and maintain certifications & approvals. Assist in the completion of monitoring and verification of site activities and performance though audit, sampling, assessment, testing and analysis to ensure that procedures and records comply with regulatory and BRCGS Food Safety requirements. Support and contribute to the new product development process and introduction of new products to site, ensuring that the requirements are implemented into site operations. As a member of the site HACCP Team, participate in HACCP meetings and Process Flow Diagram validations. Complaints: Contribute to the investigation of complaints, complaint trends, unusual or serious complaints and foreign matter complaints Non-Conformances: Assist in the recording and investigation of Non-Conformances. Ensure that all issues are logged, categorised, and investigated, and that approvals and dispositions of non-conforming product are recorded, trended, and reported. Reporting: Contribute to the compilation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. General: Communicate, liaise & escalate issues where necessary Participate in site projects and ensure that food safety & quality requirements are considered in all site projects. Undertake other tasks relating to the effective operation and continual improvement of the FSQMS, Quality and Operational activities and customer standards and directives that may be required from time to time or as a permanent addition to accountabilities and responsibilities. Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications: Qualifications - Essential o Internal Auditor o HACCP Awareness o GCSE Maths, English, Science or equivalent Qualifications - Desirable o Lead Auditor o Level 3 HACCP o Science based A Level or equivalent Experience o Minimum 2 years in a Food Manufacturing environment. o Experience with BRCGS Food Safety standards and audits. o Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices standards o Knowledge of HACCP. Skills o Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to meet deadlines. o Able to prioritise & organise own workload. o Good communication skills and attention to detail, able to influence internally and externally. o Excellent written and spoken English. o Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
