Quality Control (Qc) Lead

SRG are working with a dynamic and expanding SME to help them find a Quality Control (QC) Lead/Manager to play a key role in setting up and carrying out the QC function on site.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced QC candidate with in depth microbiology knowledge to take on a different type of challenge and still remain hands on in the lab as well as joining a business who are at the start of exciting scale up work.

The Role:

• Work to establish the Quality Control and environmental testing function within a brand new processing facility to help drive up-scaling of the processes on site
• Design and conduct experiments and ensuring the quality and performance of final products
• Provide Quality Control (QC) knowledge transfer from lab scale process through to commercial manufacture
• Provide technical troubleshooting and act as a Quality Control subject matter expert for the site
• Assist with the development of new QC processes as product portfolio increases within the business
• Manage the day to day running of the Quality Control lab
• Report progress to senior management
• Author and produce safe working practices and procedures to ensure safety in the lab and also in line with regulatory requirements moving forward
• Work closely with team members as part of a small and dynamic team

Requirements:

• Degree in a relevant scientific discipline and/or equivalent experience
• Extensive experience working in the field of QC and microbiology within an industrial setting
• An in depth understanding and experience of QC, (especially microbiology) functions and procedures
• Knowledge of downstream processing and/or fermentation would also be beneficial but is not essential
• Must be a self starter who is able to manage their own workload day to day
• Experience working in a small team/company would be advantageous
• Must be happy being hands on in the lab and adapting to changes in business needs
