The Position:
Castleton Fruit is a highly successful soft fruit farm in Aberdeenshire. There is a fantastic opportunity for the role of Quality Control Supervisor.
Soft fruits are grown on the farm for the retail trade throughout the UK season. Producing fresh, sweet fruit, it is packed in the purpose built packhouse, ready for instant distribution to depot.
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for assisting the quality Manager in developing and maintaining the quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems for the organization, which includes internal auditing to ensure compliance. This position must regulate, control and improve the quality processes throughout the business and the final product while embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company. This position offers the opportunity of development and progression.

1. Operational & Commercial Focus – Practical and decisive. Understands how an effective and efficiently run packhouse operation can contribute to stronger overall business profitability.
2. Attention to detail - Plans and organises meticulously to ensure successful fruit quality outcomes. Can identify problems quickly and then act to rectify immediately.
3. People Management – A strong communicator both within and outside the packhouse team. Able to develop productive working relationships with colleagues.
4. Time Management - Able to work towards strict deadlines in a timely manager and to work well under pressure.
5. Food Safety - Understand of food safety, HACCP and BRC is essential with an eagerness to learn to progress to the position of quality Manager in a couple of seasons.
6. Computer knowledge is essential.
