Quality Engineer, Newmarket CB8, Permanent - £NEG

A white-label manufacturer part of a multi-billion Dollar corporation exporting 95% of its products to major

world leading brands, is now seeking a Quality Engineer in addition to their team. This exciting new role is to increase their Quality resource to fully support the Organisation’s continued expansion.

Reporting to the Quality Director, you will be a self-starter with a minimum of five-years exposure working within a mechanical engineering work environment, preferably within a high-volume, regulated manufacturing environment involving metal forming and processing.

You will possess an HNC or equivalent or Apprentice served would be a distinct advantage with a well organised, non-abrasive, pragmatic team player approach that embraces change.  

Working in the Quality and H&S Team, you will have a varied and interesting role covering all aspects of Quality from inspection to maintenance of the ISO9001:2015 accredited QMS. You will enjoy working in a varied work environment where a flexible approach is essential. A good understanding of quality practice applied to new product development would be an advantage. If you have experience of vision measuring systems and software used for quality reporting and analytics, this too would be of interest however training will be provided.

Experience

• Working in a quality assured environment (ISO 9001 /TS16949 or similar)
• Practical application of document management systems (Q-Pulse)
• Medium – high volume engineered parts and assemblies
• Cross Function communication
• Familiarity with new product introduction quality practices
• Use of formal problem-solving techniques
• Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and standards
• Use of CMM and vision measurement systems a distinct advantage
• Use of conventional measuring instruments
• Equipment calibration
• Internal auditing
• Supplier and sub-contractor quality support

With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be meticulous with attention to detail to plan and achieve tasks with good presentation skills and an appreciation of health and safety practices.
