We have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Aerospace team in Basingstoke. This position, reporting to the Site Quality Leader, is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the site Quality Management system are adhered to using Quality tools and techniques such as auditing, RCCA, training and coaching.
Quality Engineer responsibilities
- Drive internal, supplier and Customer quality improvements.
- Determine and investigate Customer Escapes using RCCA tools, product knowledge, liaison with Engineering and Customer representatives, ensuring the Escape investigation is managed in accordance with Aerospace Procedures.
- Manage Quality Notifications both internally and externally, thru third-party suppliers and HIS-D
- Conduct audits of the AS9100 Quality Management System to ensure adherence to Pt145 regulations, Aerospace Procedures, and internal processes/Work Instructions
- Take a proactive approach to regulatory updates, Airworthiness Directives, and incident units.
- Be a focal point for Built-in Quality activities by developing the BIQ System and by being a key advocate of a ‘not accepting, not making, and not passing defects’ philosophy.
- Administer the corrective actions System (eCATS).
- Provide guidance for RCCA and eCATS through coaching and Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings.
- Maintain records for essential Certification training, ensuring all staff are kept current.
- Conduct Quality Gembas throughout the site.
- Raise Quality Continuous Improvements (CIs).
- Develop Quality awareness and performance in all business teams through regular Quality activities, coaching, and communications.
- Manage records, documents, and Work Instructions to ensure QMS always remains current.
- Review and assess product damage.
- Other activities deemed necessary by Quality Leader
Qualifications
- Quality Experience in Aerospace or similarly regulated indsutry
- Experience carrying out audits and report writing
- Advantageous if the candidate has working experience with AS9100, CAA/FAA, EASA 145
- Excellent Communication Skills
