We are seeking to recruit a Quality Engineer for a full-time, permanent role in the Fabrications and Pressings sector.
The working schedule is 37 hours a week, on-site, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 430pm and 8am to 1pm on Fridays.
Role Description – Responsibilities
Ensure Management system is supported across site to ensure we develop and maintain accreditation to ISO9001, duties for this include:
- Dimensional testing of Parts from production – 1st Off / last off.
- Carrying out material and measurement tests as per Sample Request Forms.
- Carry out product audit (material and dimensional) in accordance with quality requirement, as per the annual product audit schedule.
- Conduct 8D’s through to completion as part of Quality team activity.
- Carry out operator training in relation to quality aspects.
- Management of all Master, production, customer reference, OK/NOK samples.
- Continually up-date master control plans on products
Drive and Support H&S activities – standards across site.
· Support the team to drive QHSE KPI’s across site
Working Knowledge / Experience:
- Good understanding of the fundamental principles of dimensional metrology.
- A good working knowledge of small dimensional metrology instruments.
- Able to work with and understand Drawings and CAD data.
- An understanding of Quality core tools: SPC, APQP , PPAP.
- Computer literate an ability to communicate on all levels within an organisation (verbal and written).
- Able to work logically and systematically.
- Experienced in using/programming a CMM (Desirable).
- Must be a pragmatic and practical problem solver.
- Ability to multi task effectively.
- Must be a proficient communicator and listener.
- Must possess a professional and mature attitude.
- Hold a current Driving license
Qualifications & Experience / Education:
- Product quality assurance knowledge with a technical focus or time served in a comparable just-in-time production role.
- Min 5 years’ experience in Quality Engineering role required.
- Min grades Maths and English of GCSE 6 / CSE C
- Understanding of 5s Process {Desirable}
- PPS / 8d complete understanding of process.
